We’re shipping this now, but expect an official announcement soon :)

We also wanted to share a creative install that utilized a shortened track to allow the Flexview HD to operate alongside a ceiling-mounted dental light. This is very clever and works great for people who do not have track lights.

There are now hundreds of Flexviews operating in the offices of happy doctors. Contact us to learn more at 704-644-3079

Dr. Stephen Ray first contacted us over two years ago, shortly after we released the original Flexview. Like all of our customers, Dr. Ray was looking to improve his practice. He wanted to update his existing operatories by adding video, but he wasn’t certain how to achieve his goals, and he wasn’t certain whether it was worth the investment.

Well… we are happy to say, that after two long years of research, Dr. Ray was finally won over by the new Flexview HD! He recently installed (by himself!) the Flexview Media Delivery System in all of his operatories. While Dr. Ray understood the benefits of adding video to his practice – he realized that visual media would improve his efforts at patient education and would keep his patients entertained – he wasn’t quite prepared for the immediate reaction from his patients.

Dr. Ray wrote to us not long ago, to share his experience installing and integrating the Flexview HD into his practice:

Today was our first day to have the Flexview HD in the office. Wow! What a positive response…. Why did I wait? I can already tell this was a wise investment. I even installed the Flexview myself. The first operatory took me a few hours until I had everything figured out. After that, with a little assistance, patience, and perseverance, it was easy. We are currently using them for Digital TV but with the Flexview’s great versatility and High-Definition capability we will soon be adding digital x-rays, patient education, and an intraoral camera as well. The two words I’ve heard most today: “cool” & “awesome”. They weren’t talking about me exactly. Well…. They are my Flexviews.

Hi Everyone – we have a new advertisement for the Flexview HD in the April issue of DPR.

Special thanks to Dr. Patrick Broome at the Charlotte Center for Cosmetic Dentistry for allowing us to take some pictures of his Flexviews. Here are some more pictures from our visit to Dr. Broome’s office:

The new Flexview HD has arrived with a new 19-inch widescreen Samsung HDTV

The Flexview just got way bigger, badder and better with the introduction of our second generation model that incorporates a 19-inch Samsung HDTV! We increased the size of the monitor, provided more input and output flexibility, and improved the design of our junction box. Now, not only does Nothing Move Like a Flexview, nothing else looks as good!

Dr. Jeanne Fourrier, in Myrtle Beach SC, was the very first to get her hands on the new Flexview HD. Our good partner Jay Baum with Impact Media Systems performed the installation.

Dr. Fourrier actually received her units before the team here at Flexview could get one to put up in our office lab. We installed the new model this week and it is beautiful.

And yes, the view is now even better from here…

We’re really proud of the new Flexview HD. It’s not just about bolting on a bigger monitor. We redesigned several aspects of the Flexview to maintain our precise balanced-movement as well as our engineered design dimensions so that we do not get in the way of your dental light.

We hope you and your patients enjoy it!

New Flexview is coming

December 14, 2006

Nothing Moves Like a Flexview. And now we’re moving with a bigger and better monitor at the same price point! That’s what’s coming from Flexview in the next few weeks as we’ll start shipping our new upgraded model. Here’s a picture of our new monitor – the 19-inch Samsung HDTV dual purpose TV/PC monitor.

Flexview in Vegas

October 21, 2006

The ADA was in Vegas this year – and it was huge. It was so big, that we bet that even if you visited the marketplace, you likely missed our booth. So we wanted to provide some photos and commentary from the event.

Here are some pics of the Flexview installed at our booth. (The folks at Midmark appreciate our demonstration of the Flexview on their track light.)

It’s good to go to these shows to make in-person comparisons between alternative products. We love it when doctors stop by and tell us that the Flexview is better than the others.

A lot of people ask how we compare to the Pelton and Crane track monitor arm. There are two key differences.

  • First, the Flexview moves up and down (vertical movement) while the P&C arm is fixed at a specific height. With vertical travel, the Flexview can be up above patients when they are reclined and down in front of patients whent they are seated.
  • Second, The Flexview is designed to not intefere with the movement of your dental light. For some reason, Pelton designed a product that gets in the way of their light. This is partly because their arm does not move vertically. As a result, they always position the Pelton monitor off to the side of the patient when they are reclined, which causes patients to tilt their head during a procedure. The Flexview can be directly above patients when they are reclined and not get in the way of your light.

The Flexview advantages are clear when you see both products in person. In fact, we recently won over a customer that is switching over from the Pelton models to the Flexview!

Here’s a pic of the Pelton and Crane unit at the ADA. (Note the horizontal arm does not move vertically – the monitor’s height is dictated by the length of that vertical tube from the track)

If you did stop by to see us at the ADA, we appreciate your visit and look forward to seeing you next year in San Francisco. Each year that we go, our location gets a little better, making it easier to find us :)

Jay Baum and Impact Media Systems has been a great partner for Flexview in the Carolinas. Impact Media Systems specializes in designing and deploying multi-media technologies to support the digital dental practice.

Jay has shared some images of some of his recent Flexview installations. They are great examples of how the Flexview brings your digital content to the forefront of your operatory.

The images below highlights one of Jay’s most recent projects in which his client deployed the Flexview on a Pelton & Crane dental track light to enable display of live output from a microscope. The doctor frequently hosts educational seminars and was seeking a better way to display the images to those in attendance. This is a great example of utilizing the Flexview’s high-def LCD display.

In another project, Jay added the Flexview to a doctor’s existing Pelton & Crane dental track lights to improve the patient experience. The Flexview is integrated with educational and entertainment/distraction content sources.

We’re building out our network of high quality Flexview installation partners, and Jay Baum and Impact Media Systems is a leading example of a partner with the experience and expertise to implement the Flexview as part of a broader digital practice strategy. Feel free to contact Jay at 704-737-2570 to discuss any aspect of the Flexview and your overall multi-media objectives.

We’re very pleased that Dr. Stephen Glass in Spring Texas has shared his experiences and some photos of his Flexview for our blog.

From Dr. Glass:

“I have had two flexview systems for over several months now. You can tell the systems were designed by a dentist for dentists. The ergonomics are terrific. By the monitor being perfectly balanced in the system ease of movement is terrific. I also like not having the monitors tied to my operatory lights. If I do not want to use the monitor for procedures I pull it all the way forward and up. This makes the operatory as if its not there at all. There are just some appointments where I do not want to use it and this is a great feature. For a two minute crown or denture adjustment this works great. I also wanted just the operatory light while I was standing last Saturday for an emergency surgical extraction! Then, for all other types of procedures it works great in use when I want it.

I also really like the system for doing Invisalign. I have the system tied to the internet so that I can easily pull the patients files up for viewing. This lets the patient see where we are at and also lets me visualize the progress of the treatment easily.

When I’m not using it for that we let the patient have the remote to chose the cable station they would like to watch during procedures or while waiting in the chair. I also let them bring in DVD’s if they would like for longer appointments.

As you can see in the pictures I have sent it has also worked great for patient education. Taking and showing their pictures and other cases easily has been a great benefit.

Thanks. – Dr. Glass”

Dr. Glass added the Flexview to his Adec track lights.

Charlene explains her image while the patient is seated.

In the photo below, we see Charlene and the patient seated again. And then Charlene has reclined the patient and moved the Flexview directly above for viewing during the procedure.

Thanks Dr. Glass for sharing his great overview and these pictures! Everything looks great!

No Assembly Required!

June 7, 2006

Everyone involved in the installation of the Flexview is going to love our latest packaging improvement. You will now receive the Flexview fully assembled out of the box!

Now that the Flexview comes pre-assembled, installation is even easier. To install, you just need to focus on the cables and connections to your multi-media sources and connection to a power source at the foot of your track light. Our partners were claiming 30-45 minutes installation per unit when they had to assemble the Flexview – we should see the average time to install come down even lower now.

Here are a couple of pictures:

New Flexviews coming off the "assembly line"

An assembled Flexview wrapped in plastic and nested in a foam "buck."  It's difficult to see, but the monitor and handle assembly are positioned in the upper right hand corner of the foam.  This foam encasement is then placed in a new heavier grade box.

We wanted to provide our community of customers, partners and friends an easy way to keep up to speed on what’s new at Flexview Systems. So we’ve entered the world of blogging.

The Flexview Blog will provide product updates, customer case studies, installation recommendations and any other worthy content related to the Flexview Media Delivery System and its integration into the digital dental operatory. And since our web site is pretty limited on photos, I hope to pack the blog with pictures and video of the Flexview in action.

Each entry will have a spot for comments, so I encourage you to join our community and participate with your ideas, feedback and questions to each post we add. The more we hear from you, the better the Flexview can be.

We hope that you find this blog useful and enjoy its contents! And if you have some suggestions on new postings, send me an email at travis.parsons@gmail.com.

Thank you,

Team Flexview
